I'm a trained Behaviorist with almost 30 years of practical experience and have been a Born Again, Holy Spirit filled Follower of Jesus for 46 years and I am convinced that Answers in Genesis, under the leadership of Ken Ham, is a CULT❗️
I have spent the past 18 months scrutinizing and analyzing them from both professional and spiritual perspectives and they are such a textbook example of a cult and Ken Ham so completely fits the profile of an authoritative, narcissistic, megalomaniacal cult leader that I am CONVINCED of it, without restraint!
The Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum and Answers TV are the "fronts" to lure people in. You need to immediately cancel any plans to go to these places, unsubscribed to any of their services and escape from working for them (even if it means you have to abandon your whole life in the AiG "family".)
JESUS wants you FREE from them and HE will sustain you after you leave. But you don't merely have to listen to me.
Listen to what JESUS says.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Now, let me get practical as I advise those of you already trapped in this (or any) cult how to get out.
Take time to plan your departure but don't let it drag out.
Seek outside help. Somebody who has absolutely NO affiliation with them at all. This will be difficult if it is Answers in Genesis because they have Covert attachments everywhere around the world. Anyone who is particularly focused on the first 11 chapters of Genesis and refers to them as the "foundations for our faith" or is constantly referring people to Answers in Genesis resources or experts or is constantly quoting Ken Ham.
Another big sign of someone hooked up with AiG is the term "False Converts". Essentially this is anyone THEY have decided isn't behaving right and is heading to hell, even though it is GOD alone who is capable of seeing into the human heart and making that judgment.
You must avoid these people even if they are your best friend or a family member.They may be under the influence of AiG people which makes them unreliable, even if they love you.
Don't tell anybody you are leaving. They will only try to manipulate you to stay and the pressure can be HUGE.
Document everything, even if that means secretly recording conversations. It's not illegal to record a conversation if at least one person is aware it's being done. (just like a police informant who is wearing a wire).
When you actually leave, do it quietly. Don't worry about being a whistle-blower or taking a moral stand right away. Take some time to rebuild your life, heal and gain perspective. You need to stabilize yourself before you can help others.
Daily prayer and BIBLE reading are essential. but might not be easy because you will probably be over worked with little time alone. But you must work to cut out time for this. God’s Word (ALL of it, not just Genesis) gives us wisdom and God's primary way of talking to us directly, which is what you desperately need right now. Shut off others voices and focus only on what Jesus has to PERSONALLY tell you.
It's interesting to note that people who professionally "deprogram" cult members quote the Bible even if they aren't Christians themselves. This is because the Bible is the Truth and
"The Truth will set you free"…AND "whom the Son has set free is free indeed." ( John 8 )

I wish I could personally get to you to help, but I'm afraid that warning and informing you is the best I can do. However, there are people who are trained to do this and some searching will help you with this. But you must be cautious because AiG has cutting edge technology available to them (including AI) and are not above using it to watch your online activity. I would advise you to "kick it old school" and go "low tech" and "off the grid" when planning your escape. Write things in a notebook and then hide the book well.
You CAN do this and my daily prayers are for your freedom.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity."
