Finding Rest and Safety Beneath His Wings

I like this part of the movie because it reminded me of the verse from the Bible quoted below. Except with God His wings are feathers, both soft and strong and His protection is faithful and complete. (unlike what happens to Hiccup when he is [sort of] protected by Toothless.)
 God is NOT Toothless. In the Bible it actually calls Satan a "toothless lion". So even though this may be a cute movie, it is once again Satan stealing something that is the character of God and trying to take it for himself.



"He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."

I wish I could paint or draw because I can see in my mind God spreading out massively soft yet impenetrable wings and covering each of us completely. 
He has a smile on His face because we are totally safe and only He even knows we are there: in His care and hidden away from our troubles, our worries and our enemies.

He is forever faithful and mighty and we can always

 find rest beneath His "wings". 


After 38 years of knowing Him, I have experienced this and I KNOW it's true. My great desire is that each of you will experience it too.

Harsh But Still Here

It's been a harsh week. I've been stuck in bed and MONTY (my cat) and I have been having a battle-of-wills. So I've had to cut him off the "Laura-Lee Love" a few times and give him a 'cold shoulder' (the only punishment that effects him). But it also means no cat-cuddles for me either and that's a 'bummer'. I didn't realize just how accustomed to his love I've become. 

He needs to have me near, constantly in sight and usually wants to be completely involved in whatever I'm doing, which sounds very sweet but can take a LOT of patience too. 
He still can have some horrible nightmares. May you never know what it's like to hear a cat actually scream from fear! He wakes with a jump, checks to see if I'm near and reaches out to put his paw(s) on me to reassure himself that I'm here and he's safe before he can go back to sleep. But he doesn't like it if  I  touch him too much. 

 I adopted him from the Humane Society and I can only imagine what sort of abuse he had in the two years of life before he came to live with me. He may have tons of behaviour issues, but he's got lots of love to give too - if I can just teach him how to express it properly. Even though I didn't really want a cat when I adopted him, I'm sure now that it was God's will. He knew MONTY and I needed each other.

Being in bed more also means I've had more time for praying too and there are lots of people I know right now who need some extra prayers. 
I've made a request in another post here at this blog for you to help pray with me and for me and there are times I can actually FEEL your prayers giving me a boost: physically and emotionally. I'm so grateful for you.

Prayer Help Needed

She hasn't asked for this but my Aunt is having cancer surgery (tomorrow - June 14) and I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I asked you all to join me in praying for her. She's my only surviving Aunt. (my Mom's older sister)

UPDATE - June 16  2016

Thank you so much for yr prayers. Got an update on my Aunt's condition from her daughter.

"She made it through surgery, which that in itself is a blessing. She was very alert yesterday and we came home yesterday afternoon.  She is doing well all things considered and we now wait for the biopsy results of the lymph nodes. Dr said she didn't have to remove any muscle so that was good news and she got all she could see.  She has drains kept in for a few days and of course we are hoping no infection takes place and she heals quickly. We won't know what further treatment may be required, we will know when we see her surgeon  next week.  She seriously needs to gain weight so prayers for that would be great."




PLUS, I could use prayers too as I recover from my left ear that keeps starting to bleed again if I move around and is causing lots of dizziness and nausea. (which keeps me stuck in bed a lot)
But I know from past experience, when you people start praying, God moves - and right quickly too. U R precious in His sight ... and I like you maybe more than a little bit too.

UPDATE: June 21/16 


From my Aunt's daughter:
"We went yesterday to get her drains out, which she was very happy about and tmw afternoon we go back to see her surgeon and get results from the node biopsy. I am imaging depending on results  what further treatment such as radiation, and well if it is in the nodes, i don't know what they can do about that. I will send you an e-mail as soon as i can tmw regardless of the outcome. Thanks to any and all for the prayers"


I also have a cousin in the hospital too and a cousin and his wife both facing some hard [medical] times too. 

As for me,  I'm experiencing less bleeding but more pain regarding my ear recovery. (And I wish the world would stop spinning around and around)

But I still know Jesus is here with me and I came across this Bible verse from Daniel 7 "the Ancient of Days took the throne"

And He is forever there, while the Holy Spirit comes to be with and in us (depending on your choices). These things of God are Forever and Faithful and Practical. I'm more sure of that than even the pain. 
Your prayers are having a good and daily effect and making a difference. (When I'm feeling better I'll tell you all about it). 

For now, I continue to be so grateful that you are praying with and for me (and those I love). You aren't just blog readers, you  are my partners and friends.

I'm still stuck in bed recovering from an ear absess, but thinking and praying about you. I didn't want you to come to my blog and find nothing new from me when you matter to me SO much!
