Now I'm no expert in genetics, but I am in Gobbledygook and I know it when I hear it. Welcome to Answers in Genesis's latest video release, "Origins of Evolution Exposed". Sounds great, right? The only problem with this video is it's full of, you guessed it, GOBBLEDYGOOK❗️
One of the basic problems with Answers in Genesis is the massive amount of inferring that they do. Inferring? Yes. In other words, "guessing". The Bible is silent about LOTS of things, so the AiG people do LOTS of inferring to fill in the blanks. The biggest problem is that people just accept what the AiG "experts" say point blank. These days the same words can mean VERY different things to different people. We need to be constantly asking people to define their terms.
Also, people don't have the same Bible knowledge that they did in past generations, so they believe the things AiG is saying are in the Bible when they are not.
For example,
AiG says that there were no mountains before the flood but just large hills, which is why the Flood waters didn't need to be very high. WHAT?! The Bible doesn't say either way.
Gobbledygook!
Let's look at a slide from the video I'm talking about. But first you must understand that AiG actually believes in "Natural Selection", which the rest of Creationists do NOT believe in. (but Natural Selection is Gobbledygook I'll save for another blog post.)
In the Bible we read,
"You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.” (Genesis 6:19-21)
Now I want to draw your attention to the word "KIND". Now go back and REread the Bible verses again taking note of that word. I'll wait. 🙂
In order to explain how so many animals were on the Ark AiG infers (there's that word again) that the word "kind" means the main classification, like "Canines" or the dog kind. (Which I think could be plausible.) But now let’s look at the AiG slide of "Dog kind" from the video in question.
Apparently you get "Less Information" as you go from the Wolf to the Poodle.
Firstly, they need to define "less information". Do they mean information in the animal's DNA? A poodle doesn't have LESS information in its DNA than a wolf, it has DIFFERENT information in its DNA. Their different characteristics are because some genes in their DNA are recessive (take a back seat, so to speak) and some are dominant (stand out). This is basic Biology that I took in high school, which BTW was a CHRISTIAN high school. (Woohoo! Shout out to Vancouver Christian Secondary School. 🙋🏻♀️)
But just more Answers in Genesis Gobbledygook.
Now back in those Bible verses it says,
"You are to take every kind of food".
Do we apply AiG reasoning to the food too? They don't even follow their OWN reasoning.
Gobbledygook.
I understand that compared to the complete and utter NONSENSE spouted by the Evolutionists this sounds reasonable, but that doesn't make it accurate.
This is my point. You must not hesitate to question EVERYTHING that you hear! Don't accept anything just because it sounds okay and it's what the people around you are saying is true. That is a recipe for disaster! I believe the Bible is literally true and anything that is the Truth will stand, no matter how much it is scrutinized. 🤨
As to Answers in Genesis …
I have been hesitant to refer to them outright as a cult, but they do exhibit cult-ish tactics and behavior, so I have started referring to them as "Radical Creationists". Answers in Genesis is a RADICAL religious, parachurch organization with MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars at their disposal.
Can you think of anything else that should be scrutinized more than that?!🤨
