As a writer and storyteller my whole life, you may suppose I have a very large and vivid imagination. But for the majority of my life it has been "vain imaginings" (as Paul calls them in Romans) because they served primarily myself. But once I turned even that part of myself over to God they took on a new purpose. I added to them the belief that there truly is nothing impossible for God to do and began to pray accordingly with a "bigness" I had never known before and in a way that I think delights God. At least I have concluded that considering how many times He has not only answered them but answered them even BIGGER and more unusual and unexpected than the most extravagant ways I pictured them in my mind.
Through the years I have encountered so many people who gave a testimony about coming to Jesus after not being merely indifferent to Him but absolutely HATING Him and living their lives that way.
And then once saved by Him and knowing Him personally became instantaneously transformed. Transformed to the point of it being viewed as ridiculous insanity by those who witnessed their new ways. So now, whenever I see someone who seems so completely against Jesus I get a little, sly smile across my face. I begin to imagine what their lives would suddenly be like if Jesus stepped in unexpectedly and did what I call "the big snatch" as He rips them away from satan.
Keeping those things in mind, I present to you, Joe Biden.
My American Brothers and Sisters are considerably freaked out as they continue to imagine Biden as "President Biden". But imagine, if you will, this scenario with me:
Joe Biden becomes the next democratic President of the United States of America. Consider all the things he has planned, all the things he has done to get there, all the people he owes favors to, the expectations of the Democratic party, etc. Suddenly realizing the true magnitude of what he has just been handed he decides to turn to prayer. Jesus convicts through the Holy Spirit, Joe yields, and The Big Snatch takes place. And I mean he becomes a hardcore follower of Jesus Christ and commits to living out his term and his life seeking God and doing EXACTLY what Jesus tells him to do.
Whooee!!! I'm enjoying just thinking about it.
The Apostle Paul absolutely hated Christians too. He hunted them down and threw them into prisons. While still a young man, he held the jackets of those who stoned and killed the first Christian martyr, Stephen. All because he was a Jew among Jews, which he took massive pride in. Yet, of all people, Jesus chose to make him the apostle to the ... wait for it, GENTILES! I LOVE IT!
God has set a "president" 😉 by doing this many times and He certainly is capable of doing it, being omnipotent and "omniloving". He went to the cross for Joe too. I suppose what you need to ask yourself is how big is your faith, how big is your imagination, and are you willing to back it up with some big, "what if" prayers of your own.
Just something for you to consider.
Speaking the truth with love,
Always, Laura-Lee
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles."
