BUT that was THEN and this is NOW ❗️
These days Temptations are SO intense and everywhere that even people who have demonstrated lifelong integrity crumble in LESS than a day. Distracted and unprepared for the onslaught we suddenly LEAP into sin with ONE wrong decision or simply by walking through the WRONG door.
When Daniel first arrived as a prisoner in Babylon he drew personal lines for himself that he WOULD NOT CROSS, even if it meant his death.
"Daniel resolved not to defile himself..." (Daniel 1:8)
We too must be prepared ahead of time. Take the time to develop your character through DAILY time ALONE with Jesus and studying the Bible. Know God's standards and commit yourself to them.
As each new dilemma presents itself, think it through so that when the chips are down your decisions will already be clear.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight."
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
There is one aspect of the Casting Crowns song that still holds true, "A price will be paid"
for our choices made and usually not only by us but by anyone connected to us.
And if you do take a LEAP into sin, remember RESTORATION can be found again at the foot of the cross of Jesus.
