The English name of "Singapore" is an anglicisation of the native Malay name for the country, Singapura (pronounced [siลapura]), which was in turn derived from the Sanskrit word for 'lion city'.
Its official languages are English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil.
They drive on the LEFT side of the road.
It has the second highest population density of any country in the world.
Their system of Government is a unitary parliamentary republic with a Westminster system of unicameral parliamentary government, and its legal system is based on common law.
Which translated means they can vote BUT they have a centralized government which dictates to all the "lesser" governments what they can and cannot do. ๐คจ
