HOMOPHOBIC is a Non Term

 

 Let's begin by looking at the literal translation of this word.

HOMO meaning "Man" 

PHOBIC meaning a person who has a "Phobia" or "an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something."

So it literally means a person who has a irrational fear of men.

("Thank you, Jesus, I am NOT afflicted with this ailment.")

Back in the "good 'ol days" of the 1960s, when Homosexuality (sex between men) was considered a mental illness and/or a crime, people, especially Heterosexual (straight) men, had an intense natural aversion to it. 

The Gay Rights activists were having a great deal of trouble pushing their agendas forward because of all the push back they were getting.

If you had asked men back then if they thought homosexuality was okay, you would have gotten a resounding and definite, "No!"

So the Gay rights people decided to REDEFINE the term.

They told us that ANY man who was against Homosexuality was  "Homophobic" ☝️ with the reason being that they had such a huge, negative reaction to it because they, themselves, were latent homosexuals with all those same sex attractions just brewing under the surface.

Suddenly men never wanted to be called homophobic again,  got confused on how to respond, and decided to stop with the push back and take a step back from the whole mess 

That is EXACTLY what the goal of the Gay activists was and, once a swath of nonresistance opened up, they moved in to push their agendas of social tolerance and making same-sex marriages legal, which is EXACTLY what they have done.

Now, Homophobic has been yet again redefined to include ANY person who does not fully affirm and embrace all letters of the LGBTQ+ community and is hurled at people like vitriol along with others terms like "hate-mongerer" and "white oppressor".

Again, we are shocked at being called such things and start immediately stammering out our innocence and taking a step back.

Their side has embraced the strategy of, "The Best defense is a good offense" and it is completely and consistently working for them.

Or is it? 🤨

As soon as a problem is identified, the solution is soon to follow.

People are individuals with many nuances and intricate complexities. Don't fall for their machinations, nor accept anybody's shallow, ignorant opinions of you nor their attempts to put labels on you.

Stand your ground for what you believe and we WILL feel the ground start to shake from the tremors of Truth we create.

"Helping" Mom make a Chocolate Cake

 

 I remember one day in 1970, when I was just 4 years old  (Oops❗️🙊 Accidentally outed my age on the internet again), I was helping Mom make a Chocolate cake. We had already greased and floured the pans, the oven was set and preheating, the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder) gathered on the counter, when suddenly the phone rang.

 It was back in the "Olden days" when phones were tethered to the wall with a cord, and ours was just in the hallway between the kitchen and living room.

Mom turned to me and said, 

"Could you help me and get the butter and 2 eggs out of the fridge, while I answer the phone, but make sure not to go near the hot oven."

"Okay, Mom." ☺️

Simple, right?

Should have been no problem

However, Mom was talking on the phone longer than anticipated and even after I had taken out the butter and eggs she was STILL on the phone.

So, ... 💁‍♀️ I decided to be helpful and keep on going. But, at that age, the idea of specific measurements were yet unknown to me. It seemed to me that Mom (and my Grandmothers) just put a bit of THIS and a bit of THAT into the bowl.

Which is exactly what I did. 💁‍♀️

When Mom got off the phone, I was stirring all the dry ingredients together and the flour had *POOFED* everywhere making a wee bit of a mess. 🤏

(Okay, okay! I had made a BIG mess.)

When Mom came back into the kitchen she looked around and asked (puzzled but not angrily),

"Laura-Lee, what are you doing?"

Sensing I had done wrong, I responded sheepishly,

"Well, I finished getting the eggs and milk, just like you asked, but when you were taking a long time on the phone, I decided to be helpful and keep on going without you until you came back."

She looked into the bowl and said,

"But I have to put only a certain amount of each ingredient in the bowl and do it in a very specific order. By doing this all by yourself, when you didn't know what to do, you've actually ruined the whole cake and wasted all these ingredients. Now I have to start all over again.

You could hear me and knew I was coming right back, so you should have just done what I asked you and then waited for me to tell you what to do next."

How many times has Jesus given us just a simple, yet important, task to do, but we get tired and frustrated waiting for Him to tell us what to do next or to comeback?

So we jump ahead of Him, take the initiative and start creating and building on our own. 

That is a recipe for disaster!

What we need to do is be "faithful in the little things",

 "wait patiently on the LORD" (Psalm 27) 

and DO JUST WHAT HE asks us to do . No more, no less. 🙅‍♀️

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."

"The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him".

Before Mom and I became Born Again Christians (only a few days apart in 1978), Mom taught courses in something called "Concept Therapy". She got there when the Real Estate company she worked for sent all its employees for a weekend of "Success Seminars".

Mom was intrigued and, being the consummate over achiever,  found out about their parent organization, which led her to Concept Therapy. She learned all she could about the driving principles of Concept Therapy, which led her to Hindu Medation and to studying "The Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East", which she had in a boxed set and studied backwards, forwards and upside down.

I was on a separate but parallel path to Mom's.

I saw a made for TV movie called "The UFO Incident" which aired on NBC in October, 1975 when I was 9 years old 

(Oops❗️🙊 I accidentally outed my age on the internet again),

  about the supposed alien  abduction of an average American couple named Betty and Barney Hill.  This movie completely FREAKED out an entire generation and launched the modern fascination with UFOs and Alien abduction.❗️😱)

    

Since "the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree" when it comes to me and Mom, I went to the Library and asked the Librarian, "What's a good, Grown-Up book about Aliens?"

She recommended a popular book at the time called, "Chariots of the Gods" by Kurt Vonnegut, which puts forth the Theory that the Ancient Egyptians were too stupid to build the pyramids on their own and therefore had help from SUPERIOR beings from other planets. Kurt demonstrates this by showing several photos of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics that seem to depict space craft and alien beings. 

It seemed my next logical step was  to study Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics. (Yes. Okay. I acknowledge I was an odd child.) 🫤

That led me into the study of all the  Ancient Egyptian gods, which put me in the same head space as Mom.

She was explaining Concept Therapy to me and I told her it reminded me of what I was learning about Ancient Egypt. Basically they have the same beliefs.

"Uh. That's all fascinating, Laura-Lee, but what has this got to do with our topic?"

The repackaged, modern face of all of this is called, "The New Age Movement" and it is EVERYWHERE, even entrenched in the Christian Church.

In 1978, when Mom and I were brand new Christians, there were no Christian radio stations, no Christian TV networks and only ONE Christian TV show in Canada called, "100 Huntley Street" 

But there were three Christian TV shows we got in Canada from America, The 700 Club (Pat Robertson and Ben Kinchlow), The PTL Club (Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker) and

(Pause for dramatic effect)

Kenneth Copeland.

We soaked them all up.

About a year later, in 1979, Ken Copeland came to talk in Vancouver (BC, Canada) where we lived at the time.

Of course, we were going❗️

We listened to Ken preach live for two hours straight. UNEDITED.

In the car ride home we were silent for quite some time until I turned to Mom and asked,

"Mom, how is what we heard different than the New Age stuff, because it sounds exactly the same to me?"

She answered, "It IS exactly the same thing, Laura-Lee. Ken's just hiding it behind the words of the Bible and using the name of Jesus in a blasphemous way."

Well, that was the END of Kenny in our lives. 🤨

Not just Ken, but his BFF John Hagee and fellow Word Faith, Prosperity Gospel cohorts like Jesse Duplantiss.

Now, enough story telling. Let's get to the GUTS of what is wrong with all of this. 

I've been honing down my way of explaining this through the past 46 years, because it SOUNDS Christian but it is often subtle in its deception, so I'll make this as simple and clear as I can.

Go back and look again at the original statement by Jesse Duplantiss that I began this post with.

Okay. Here it is in a nutshell.

The LORD, God Almighty is not the Bell Hop, a big happy Santa Claus in the Sky nor your Sugar Daddy❗️❗️❗️

He is obligated to give you NOTHING just because you quote the Bible nor is He required to cough up the stuff you want because you say, "In the name of Jesus".

God is NOT your SERVANT you are HIS❗️

Are you starting to see a trend here, people? 🤫

Now let's get a wee bit 🤏 more specific about the fallacy of this way of viewing things.

It preaches that there is power in the Spoken Word itself. That by merely speaking something out loud or DECLARING something "In the name of Jesus" we can speak it into existence. We can't.

Only GOD can speak things into existence 

"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

(Genesis 1:3)

But I've got some harsh news for you, so brace for impact.

Deal with it.

Even as His beloved Children this is not an ability He has granted to us.

As far as the Leaders of this movement are concerned, my abilities at reading Body Language and facial expressions is invaluable.

When Ken , John, Jesse, and others of their ilk are blatantly asking for money to buy themselves a brand new jet, telling you to send them "seed money" or order a handkerchief they touched and place in on a body part to receive Divine healing or whatever ridiculous thing they are doing to "take the gospel to every nation",

their faces are filled with what is known as "Duping Delight". Basically, they are getting their "jollies" because you are stupid and they can tell you anything and you will buy it, hook, line and sinker.

Now let's get practical 

How can you tell if you are part of this movement or wish to safeguard yourself against it, because not all Word Faith churches are rich and over the top like the ones I've mentioned?

Any time someone wants you to declare something Biblical out loud, or say "in the name of Jesus ", which is fine and good in certain contexts 💁‍♀️, add the phrase,

"...if it is God's will."

This will constantly be putting your emphasis where it belongs because, ultimately, what we want (even if it's a good thing) may not be God's will for us AT THAT MOMENT.

God ALWAYS knows what is BEST for us and sometimes that involves not getting what we want and even walking through some dark and difficult seasons of Life.

"I am the first and I am the last;

 apart from me there is no God.

Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it.

    Let him declare and lay out before me"

(Isaiah 44:6-7)

Reading ALL of Isaiah, chapter 44 is a good way to refresh our knowing of just how big God really is.

There is a Serial Killer Systematically Hunting Every Member of Your Family

I was not personally involved in this case, so I will just be telling you the general particulars of it.

A Homicidal Psychopath had an altercation with a specific person and killed him and escaped. He developed a fixation on this man's family and began to systematically hunt down all his relatives.

 He would break into a home at night where extended family members of his original victim lived, wake them up, gather them in the living room and shoot them all, sparing nobody. Then he would leave a note behind reiterating his commitment to not stop until he had killed every member of this particular family.

Years passed and he continued to make good on his promises. At one point the police identified who he was but couldn't find him.

Finally there was only one household remaining. A Dad, Mom and their five children. They were all on alert but the man was patient and one night he broke into their home, gathered the family in the Living Room and shot the two youngest daughters.

The Dad knew the man was coming for them, so he had hidden around his home several guns, within easy reach and had grown very skilled at using them.

Now, let's pause here as I ask you a question as to what the Dad should do next.

Should he 

A. Invite the Murderous Maniac to a meal to engage in a dialogue to try and solve their differences.

B. Invite the Murderous Maniac to live in his basement 

C. Take out the nearest gun and kill him.

Welcome to the Israeli vs Arab Terrorist conflict!

Islamic, Arab Terrorists are absolutely committed to the complete annihilation of EVERY Jew on the planet and have proven this time and time again throughout the decades.

There is no way to sit down and negotiate peace with people like this, NOR do you give up some of your land and invite them to come and live with you. You take out your weapons and stop them to preserve the remaining members of your country.

In our case study, the Father killed the man who had entered his home and killed his daughters. The District Attorney of the area, who was well aware of the facts of the case, did NOT press any charges against the man and he became a local hero amongst the members of his community, who were grateful that he had rid them of this Psychopath in their midst.

Now, if the Serial killer had NOT been stopped by the Dad, in all probability, he would have not have decided,

“Well, I got that out of my system. Now I'll go back home and lead a peaceful, normal life.”

No. More than likely he would have developed a fixation on another group of people and continued to systematically slaughter them too. So by the Dad stopping him he not only saved his own family, but also saved any potential victims the Serial Killer would have had in the future.

This is where the similarity between our Serial Killer and the Arab Terrorist vs Israeli conflict ends.

Not only is Israel viewed, predominantly by the (completely unknowledgeable of the facts) people of the western world as the Bad guys for stopping the Terrorists,

 BUT are actually being held responsible for all their previous killings of Jews, because the Terrorists had a (self-perceived) justification for originally starting on their killing rampage all those years ago.

It's utter madness!

Learn the facts, ignore the Antisemitic propaganda and support Israel…

… as I have actively done for 53 of my 59 years of life.

You Have Entered ... The Ham Zone

 Since we live in a 3D (3 Dimensional) Universe, I've been trying to figure out what are these other 2 Dimensions cult leader, Ken Ham (CEO of AnswersinGenesis), has built into his 5D VR Theatre Experience at the Creation Museum in Kentucky (and just recently opened similar attractions in Pigeon Forge Tennessee and Branson Missouri).

And I have FINALLY figured it out.💡

You see Ken has a particular psychological problem (that I can't discuss in detail, due to my Professional ethics) that involves Pop Culture having an undue and unbalanced effect on him that can turn into a fixation.

For instance, after seeing "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" where it depicted an entire planet formed from the explosion of “The Genesis Device”, he came to America and founded “Answers in Genesis" to build his own Genesis World.

After seeing Jurassic Park, he built the Creation Museum with all its many, MANY, Dinosaurs, which he continued to sprinkle liberally all over the Ark Encounter in a disproportionate amount (even if you do believe there were dinosaurs on the real Noah's ark).

After seeing Avatar, he built his 3D Virtual Reality Theatre Experience at the Creation Museum.

But 3D didn't seem to be enough for Ken. What started out as a 4D VR Experience quickly morphed into a 5D VR Theater Experience.

(Ken can't seem to settle on how many dimensions he is in 😵‍💫)

 Now, after some months having this niggle at me, I just figured out where he is getting these extra Dimensions from.

Now Ken's latest obsession is AI. He has AI Robots in his warehouse, controlling his “Farm of 3D Printers” (apparently his printers must remain in our 3D reality in order to function properly) and his 5D VR Theatre Experiences.

And, of course, to push all of this on every-day Christians, Ken does what Ken does best, he plays on the fears of parents who are concerned their children are abandoning the Christian faith. He tells them the best way to stop this huge Exodus from the Church by young people is to embrace “modern technology”, which is currently being used for all sorts of anti-Biblical evil (and it is). But, apparently, in Ken's hands, it will be used to “uphold Biblical Authority” and to “share the Saving Gospel” to the next generation (whatever Ken conceives those things to be).

Of course, Ken Ham's other fixation (which you do NOT need to be a trained Behaviorist to see) is making LOTS and LOTS of money, which he is hoping to make by getting his followers to embrace HIS “Christian” version of Virtual Reality.

But I suppose I'm basically talking to myself on this one, because Answers in Genesis just keeps growing and growing and growing.

Top 5 Signs of a Christian Leader You Should NOT Follow

1. They will not receive Correction. And I don't mean merely on big Biblical or Doctrinal issues. I mean about anything. 

Actually that's in Romans 5 not 6.

You missed the exit to the off ramp.

You're pronouncing that word wrong.

If hearing things like this upsets them, no matter how kindly they are said, they've got a major problem.

2. They never admit they are wrong and they never apologize. If someone has been a Christian leader for a long time (years) and they have never openly admitted an error, any error, big or small, that is a HUGE problem. They either don't believe they've committed one or they are covering up their errors. Both are extremely dangerous.

CHRISTIANS are always wrong at some point because we are fallen and fallible. We are not just wrong occasionally, we are wrong frequently.

We OWN up to our Sins.

Ask God for forgiveness.

We apologize to the person or people we have wronged.

We do everything we can to make amends and make things right.

ALL these things TOGETHER demonstrate TRUE repentance and without repentance God does not forgive us.

3. Christian Leaders are not supposed to be rich. This is not a popular belief in western countries where we are so affluent, because even if Christians aren't rich yet, they are often trying to GET rich and admire those with money. But having a bunch of money, living in a big house, driving expensive cars, dressing in expensive clothing, staying in the finest hotels, going to the best restaurants, taking luxury cruises, etc, etc, are diametrically opposed to the humble and simple lifestyle we have been called to.

 If you are a Christian with a gift of being able to create sound businesses and make money, then pay your employees well and then GIVE THE REST AWAY.

4. You don't have DIRECT access to your Christian Leader. You should always be able to schedule a meeting with them and be able to contact them by email and expect a timely answer and I mean from THEM, not someone who monitors and answers emails for them. Distant, aloof, unapproachable. These are unacceptable in a Christian Leader.

5. (Mark this one well) There is no such thing as a Christian Celebrity. Let me say that again. THERE is NO SUCH THING as a CHRISTIAN CELEBRITY! Period. A Christian celebrity is a Person who has sought to OR allowed themselves to become an IDOL.

I never got to see Christian writer and musician Rich Mullins in concert before he died, but a friend of mine did. It was right after Rich's song, “Awesome God” had been published in several hymnals, which was an honor modern Christian Contemporary Artists hadn't received. If anybody deserved to be a Christian celebrity it was Rich Mullins.

Yet my friend was telling me how Rich ended his concert.

He came out for a second encore alone with his guitar. He sat on a stool and divided the audience into three sections and led them in a popular worship round. He told them to sing it through 3 times. Then long before they ended he just left the stage.

They kept singing with their minds focused on Jesus and when they were done the stage was bare and there was nobody left to applaud for. 

Rich Mullins might not have been able to avoid being well known, but he realized being a Celebrity was a mindset and against what Jesus has called us to be and he exhibited this in his humble lifestyle and attitude.

If these things I've listed are being played out in your Christian Leader, whether that be the leader of a Church, Ministry, Teacher, a Boss (or even a Parent) then this is a Person you should NOT be listening to.

Even though Martyn and Ray don't lead cults (yet), God is holding them accountable for all the years they have been unabashedly promoting Ken's Cult and all things Answers in Genesis.

I have been avoiding AiG, Ken and his cohorts for years, but recently they have become so "in your face" and their corruption so prevalent that God asked me to do a Deep Dive into Answers in Genesis and anyone even remotely connected to them. 

After untold hours spent through the last 2 years and being stuck watching their weekly videos and sermons, and uncovering their evil corruption at a unprecedented levels, I now actually CRINGE when someone quotes from the first 11 chapters of Genesis. 😖

 Plus, I want to vomit when I hear their Followers declare (Repeatedly) what great, Godly men  they are, while they sit with their smug, arrogant smiles because they think they are UNTOUCHABLE because of their political and financial hook ups.

If I feel this way, having never  met any of these men, I wonder how those who have been mistreated and abused by them feel right now. 🤔

Plus, I wonder what all the non-Christians are thinking about this. They see these men and their two-faced greed more clearly than most Christians do.

In what form will God's Judgment come?

I don't know. That's not MY business. It's between Jesus and them.

But something I keep thinking of is Gideon of old, who faced the Midianite army with just 300 men. However, they were fighting FOR God and depending on Him for their deliverance and God DID deliver the Israelites in a very unique way.

"The Lord caused the men throughout the [Midian] camp to turn on each other with their swords."

Divine Judgment at the hands of the Lord, God Almighty is a serious thing.

I realize this is an extremely hard post to read. It was very difficult for me to write. Certainly when I started this blog 20 years ago these were NOT the types of things I envisioned myself saying. But two decades later the world is a very different place and evil is running rampant and God's time of stepping back and letting our rebellious ways run the show have drawn to a close.
